Setting-up Your Account for Faxing

How to set-up your account to support Faxing. Send and receive faxes directly within your Kalix account.

Updated over 4 years ago

Kalix allows you to send faxes to both clients and contacts*. Faxes can include documents, chart notes, client summaries, doctor's letters, attachments and more.

Kalix also supports receiving faxes from clients and other healthcare professionals directly within your Kalix account.

The cost to send and receive e-faxes is three cents (3.00c) per page (United States). You are required to purchase prepaid credit before e-faxes can be sent. Click here to view more information about pricing.

Kalix also supports the purchasing of a dedicated fax number (Optional).

*Note: the fax's recipient must be set up in Kalix as either a contact or client.

Step 1 - Enabling & Setting-up Messaging

Before sending and receiving faxes, Kalix's Messaging feature must be enabled under the Messaging Setting section of the Messaging tab.

Step 2 - Setting-up Contacts or Client's Details Page

Enter the recipient of the fax as either a contact or client in Kalix. If sending the fax to a healthcare professional, referring provider, or insurance company, we recommend creating them as a contact.

  • Make sure the client or contact has their fax number saved to their details page.

  • Fax numbers need to contain your state area code.

  • The telephone number type field must be set to fax (as shown below).

Kalix allows you to save unlimited contact phone numbers to the client's and contact's details page. Click add to save a new number.

Step 3) Associating Contacts with a Client (Optional)

Kalix allows you to associate contacts e.g. referring providers or healthcare team members, with specific clients' files. This will make the sending of faxes to contacts much easier. There are two different methods of association.

Via Referrals

Contacts can be associated with a particular client, through a referral.

Via the Contacts Table

Or using the contacts table on the client's Cover Page.
