Changes & Improvements (Overview) January 22 2017

Client files have a new section - Messaging, Messaging will be opt-in only & additional security for Online Forms.

Updated over a week ago

In preparation for the upcoming upgrade to Kalix's reminders, and the release of our new in-app messaging feature, I would like to share with you some changes that are occurring.

Note: these changes will not go into affect until after the update completed on Saturday January 21st 11:00 pm PST (Sunday January 22nd 2:00 am EST, Sunday January 22nd 1:00 am CST).

The Reminders will be Renamed Messaging

We have renamed the Reminders section of Kalix to Messaging. This is to encompass the new in-app messaging.

Client Files have a New Section - Messaging

Ad-hoc message will be sent from a new section added to each clients' file called Messaging.

Messaging Will Move to Opt-in Only

Kalix's messaging functionality, (including appointment notices, appointment reminders, billing reminders, late payment reminders, online forms & e-signing, and ad-hoc messaging) will become opt-in only. Clients and contacts will need to opt-in before receiving messages from Kalix again.

Kalix will automatically send an opt-in message using the client's assigned messaging method (previously called reminder method), just before their first message (or next message after the update) is due to go out. Alternatively, you can manually trigger the sending of the opt-in message by navigating to the Messaging section of the client's file and clicking on the Send link on (as shown below).

The client or contact will accept the opt-in request by click on the email link (for email messaging), replying YES to the opt-in text message (for SMS message) or pressing 1 on their phone (text-to-voice reminders). The queued message will then immediately go out.

Messaging Must Be Enabled to Send Online Forms

If you use Kalix's online forms functionality (e.g. electronic agreements, intake forms, client summaries), you will need to enable Messaging (previously called Reminders functionality) and assign a messaging method against each clients' Details page.

Additional Security For Online Forms

As an extra security measure, before accessing shared online forms or documents (e.g. electronic agreements, intake forms, client summaries), clients and contacts will be required to enter a security code. Kalix will include the required code as part of the associated email, SMS or text-to-voice message.
